Module 9: You Are Extraordinary

Welcome to Module 9

This is the final sprint. This week, our focus is on how you can upgrade your relationship to yourself, cultivate positivity, and utilize the power of the mind to your advantage.

Objectives:

  • Separate your self-worth from your productivity so you can feel good about yourself no matter what.
  • Reframe your negative thinking and cultivate a sense of gratitude in your life.
  • Utilize the power of your mind to achieve the impossible.
  • Learn to love yourself as you are so you can experience success without the exhaustion.

Summary:

  • When you love yourself, you can be successful without being exhausted
  • Mirror work is one way to shift how you think and feel about yourself. Start with a belief you can get behind (e.g., “[Name], I want to like you”) and upgrade your statements over time.
  • By adopting an attitude of gratitude, you can improve your mindset, boost your self-esteem, experience fewer physical aches and pains, have higher sleep quality, and create stronger social bonds.
  • Believe in success. You are what you think.
  • Self-sabotage “refers to behaviors or thought patterns that hold you back and prevent you from doing what you want to do.”

The Find-Remind-Bind Theory as a Gratitude Practice:

Step 1: Find people with whom you are suitable

Step 2: Remind yourself of existing social relationships

Step 3: Maintain and invest in these relationships by forming bonds (binding) with these influential individuals.

3 Other Gratitude Practices

  1. Write a thank-you note to someone you appreciate.
  2. Start a gratitude journal. Everyday write in a notebook about what you are thankful for by focusing your mind on the positive.
  3. Practice a loving-kindness meditation (Metta) daily. This type of meditation involves mentally sending goodwill, kindness, and warmth toward others by silently repeating a series of mantras, and fosters compassion for yourself and others.
