Module 4: Part 2 Work Engagement Through Time Management

Welcome to Module 4 – Part 2

In this part of the module, you will learn time management strategies that will help you accomplish your tasks in less time, avoid overwhelm, and enjoy your work and personal time more.

  • Beliefs underly your boundaries
  • If you are a people-pleaser, your first step in setting boundaries is getting clear on who you are and how you want to show up (identity)
  • You need to be clear on what needs you have and accept that they are valid.
  • You need to feel confident in your ability to meet your own needs to have boundaries in place
  • Saying “yes” to others’ requests is saying “no” to your own if you’ve already committed to doing something else.
  • Find a reward that motivates you to do what’s hard – like saying “no” to others
  • Prioritize tasks that are important over those that aren’t
  • Work to eliminate tasks that are important and urgent. Then shift into tasks that are important but not urgent.
  • Try to estimate task length so you can plan enough time to get things done. If you aren’t sure, give yourself a time cushion.
  • Break tasks down into chunks and focus on one chunk at a time
  • Schedule your personal and professional tasks at the start of each week.

This Week’s Tasks

  • Organizing your space
  • Reviewing your day and jotting down notes
  • Practicing gratitude
  • Eliminating energy drains
  • Focusing on what you can control

This Week’s Challenge

  • Prioritize the most important things (you)!

Bonus Challenge:

  • Create checklists of when to say no and when to say yes to requests.
  • To improve your estimation of task length, consider doing a time audit.
  • Schedule your weekly tasks in advance.

Good luck!
